As a well established provider of market goods, the multinational company DES has been determined since the recent earthquake catastrophe, to produce a suitable crane which could be sold to LED countries to provide assistance during the disaster relief.
The recent Haiti disaster showed the important need for a safe, reliable, quick to assemble product that could provide the few critical seconds that could mean the difference between life and death for any survivor.
The design was made according to BS standards and followed the given guidelines:
• Designed to have a lifting load of 1000kg
• Designed to lift and move specified loads 4m from the point of lift
• Needs to be rapidly disassembled and reassembled on site
• Designed to perform on uneven terrain
• The individual parts of the crane are to be carried manually over 100m
• Transported using a standard Land Rover size 4x4 or small helicopters
• Powered by either a hand-cranked or powered hoist
